Erick's books

So this may seem like a silly thing to post, however, after you have all been here and experienced our "hill", you will know how amazing it is that Erick carried all of these up the hill by himself. He called me when he was almost here and I took the stoller to him, but by the time I got there he was about at the front door. And in the picture is only the books, it doesn't show the anatomy lab kits, or all the other "tools" he needed!
The sad thing is, he had actually found someone who was willing to drive him home, but at the bottom of the hill, they were working on the road and wasn't letting cars past! What luck!

Purple Turtle

Saturday our ward had a beach day activity at Purple Turtle. It is north of our house, and a very pretty beach. We had never been there before, so we didn't know how far it was or what most people did to get there. But the kids were really excited to go. In Primary they really emphasized to the kids to bring your own water, and then they were going to have sandwiches and chips and desserts. So Bryn had been reminding us all week that we needed to take water to Purple Turtle. So we gathered all of our stuff up and was ready to go. We started walking and by the time we had walked well past the church which is an hour walk from our house, we saw a few members pass in a taxis(obviously the way to go)! We asked a few people how much futher and they said it was still a long ways. We finally made it and it was well worth the trip! The kids had so much fun!

LOOK MOM!!!

The other day I was cleaning in the bathroom, and left the kids to entertain themselves. Always a mistake!!!!
Our house doesn't smell the best- I know really hard for me. I am such a smells person. I love to smell everything before I buy it, so when we first got to our house I was a little dissapointed when I discovered our couches smelled like a wet dog! very gross. We have tried everything we can(our options are very limited here)to get the smell out. It has gotten better, but not enough that you don't still notice it. And it carries through the house, so you can imagine my curiosity when I suddenly started to smell something really good.
I have some lotion for Victory Secret that is really good. It's coconut vanilla and I LOVE it. While I was cleaning, Kyler decided his skin was a little dry(which doesn't happen here)the air has so much moisture that the kids don't need lotion! He got my lotion and helped himself! The plus side was it made the house smell really good for a while!
When I found him, all he said was,"Look mom, you happy?"

A New Friend

Last week we had been at the school for a while doing a few things, and on our way home Kyler was asleep in the stoller and Bryn was walking. I was kind of in a hurry, so not noticing anything but the road and Bryn saw this little guy. I was sad for Kyler that he missed it, but it was really fun for Bryn to see. She has really good eyes. Just another thing I am greatful for!

Opening Social

This is Bryn enjoying a very wonderful treat! It is Passion Fruit Juice. I can't even tell you how wonderful it tastes! We don't drink much of anything other than water here because it is so hot, but this is always a welcome treat!
The Opening Social was for all new students and their families. It was really fun, we were able to meet a lot of people here and the kids found a lot of friends to play with. I didn't get many pictures, because it started at 6pm and it's dark here by 6:30 everynight, so I got a few at the begining. There were a lot of mosquitos out, and Erick didn't tell me until after we left but apperently there were bats flying right over our heads all night eating them. I'm glad I didn't know until after!

This is just a picture of the sunset. I don't know who the people are in the picture, but I thought it was a really cool Picture. The people made it look like a commercial for some beer, or wine, but I thought it was cool.
The Sunsets are all beautiful here. The kids love to watch it from our house everynight on the porch, but the pictures haven't turned out this good yet. I guess I just need more practice.

Our view

These are a few pictures of the island from right outside our home. We are very high up and get a really good view. The Mountain in the distance that is made up of two humps is the point where the Caribbean sea and the Atlantic ocean meet! And then you can see all the green that we have here. It is amazing how green it really is, however with all the rain it soundn't be that hard to believe. There are also a lot of beautiful flowers everywhere. It is very pretty here.

a trip to the beach

Just thought I would post some pictures of a trip to the beach. We went right down to the ocean from the school, not the nicest beach around, but it was really fun for the kids, and the first time they and Erick had swam in the ocean!
