4th of July

For the 4th of July, each city had a celebration at one of the parks. We went to the Duluth city celebration. It was at one of the city parks on a huge soccer field. They had lots of games and rides and things to do during the day. The fireworks were really fun. I thought they would have scared Koby, but he didn't even act like anything was out of the ordinary. Bryn and Kyler had so much fun running around on the field before the fireworks started.

Playing catch up.....

I have been so bad at updating this, so I thought I would do one BIG post and get caught up on the last month and then try to be better at saying caught up :)

First of all, I need to say THANK YOU to everyone who helped us move! My mom was amazing, she came and stayed with us for a month and helped with getting Koby here and then packing and moving and up-packing and getting settled in. We could not have done it with out her. I can't begin to explain how much I appreciated the help, but most of all how nice it was to have her here for a whole month to just spend time with and talk to. Not to mention the help flying here, all the meals, the bread she made, the laundry that she did, I really didn't have to worry about anything while she was here. THANK YOU MOM!

Bruce and Shirley were also a Wonderful help. It was so nice to see them and spend some time with them. They came out to Miami for a few days and helped us get the truck loaded, the apartment cleaned and then drove Erick's car up to Atlanta. We towed the highlander and Erick drove the truck, but we needed help getting his car here, so it was so nice to have the help getting here. Then they stayed and helped up us un-load the truck and clean the house here. We are very grateful for all that they did to help us, and again I can't say Thank you enough. I must have had my camera buried because I didn't get any pictures while they were here.

I also need to tell my dad thank you! He flew out here to Atlanta after a crazy week of work, traveling, and girls camp to help us get settled in and un-packed. I don't think his life is ever not crazy and we really appreciate him taking the time to come help us move AGAIN! Plus we are grateful he let us keep my mom for the whole month.

Basically, we had a much smoother move this time thanks to all the help we had! THANK YOU!!!

The day we brought home Koby from the hospital was also Bryn's last day of school. I would not have thought of doing anything since I was a little pre-occupied, however, my mom planned a little party for Bryn since it was Summer Vacation, a welcome home party for Koby and a "I get to be a big brother" party for Kyler. She got some balloons and and crape paper to decorate the apartment with and made cupcakes with spiderman and princess cupcake papers. Erick took the kids out to the pool when Bryn got home from school and she decorated and got everything put together. It was so fun!

We really took advantage of the pool while we had the chance. The kids spend as much time out there as they could. I got a few pictures of them with Erick.

This is Koby at 7 days.... What a perfect little man we got!

Kyler: Crazy kid. This is how he came down stairs one day. I don't know how he walked down and didn't trip??

Koby at almost 3 weeks:

This brings us to the first of July. Koby and I took my mom to the airport (what a sad day). Before we left Bryn kept telling her she didn't want her to leave. I thought by the time I got back, she would have been doing something else but as soon as I walked in, she said she didn't want grandma to leave! We had such a nice time while she was here, but I am sure it was nice for her to get back home.

Who do I look like

It seems like the first question everyone asks is, "Who does he look like?" Since everyone has their own opinion I thought I would post a pic of Koby, Bryn and Kyler all at about the same age and see what you all think. Bryn was born before we made the leap to a digital camera, so I had to scan her picture in making it a little blurry. My opinion is he definitely looks like be belongs, I think he looks A LOT like Bryn but mostly, I think he looks like Koby! I will have to do another post like this in a month or so and see the comparison then.

Welcome Koby

Koby was born June 7th at 2pm. We were expecting a much bigger baby but was PLEASANTLY shocked to find out he was 8 lbs. 1 oz. He has been a wonderful baby right from the start. He is so happy and content most of the time. We all think he is just perfect. We are so happy to finally have him here.

excellent reader award

Bryn finished first grade in Miami, Florida at Carver Elementary school. The school had an awards assembly the beginning of June and Bryn received an Excellent reader award. We are so proud of her and all that she is able to do. She is a great reader and she really enjoys school. Kyler was so excited when they called Bryn's name to come get her award, he was yelling and cheering so loud! Here are some pictures of the day!

THE EVERGLADES NATIONAL PARK

We took the kids the the Everglades National Park a while ago and here are the pics from the day. On the way there Kyler couldn't stop talking about the alligators. My Dad loves to tell the kids stories about when we wrestled an alligator, so on the way Kyler asked Erick if he would wrestled an alligator like Grandpa did. Since we knew we would actually see some alligators, we told Kyler that the rangers wouldn't let you wrestled them in the park.
It was really fun to see all the alligators, birds and turtles. We didn't have any cross the road in front of us (this is a common thing to see apparently) but we were really close to them in the water. There were a few moving around but mostly they just sit there in the water. It was a really fun day!
This is the board walk that goes all around the water so you can get a good look at the alligators.

While we were walking, we heard the loudest snap ever. We came around a few bushes and saw this one in the water, I am sure we just missed him getting his lunch.

Here is one of the turtles we saw. There were a lot in the water, but this was the most active one.
